I gained experience in the Entertainment industry as a Projectionist at a movie theater where I took the leap after two and a half years of service to start my official journey into the Information Technology world when I saw the writing on the wall about my job coming to a close due to automation.
From there I gained experience in Telecommunications taking Technical Support and Billing calls for Sprint wireless customers across the nation and then decided it was time for me to go back to school and attain my Associates of Applied Science degree in Networking and Systems Administration in order to advance my career into more rewarding work.
During my time in school I gained experience in Corporate Retail for a retailer known as Academy Sports+Outdoors here in Texas at their Corporate office and transitioned after a year through my temp agency to Sysco Foods at their Corporate office to be a part of a temporary project as a Data Analyst during a time when Sysco was going through a potential acquisition and planning to acquire US Foods and was primarily responsible for cleaning their customer data records and preparing the data to be loaded into a new Data Management tool known as Reltio. When the project came to a close at Sysco, I found my first System Administrator position at Yellowstone Landscape right around the time I graduated with my Associates Degree and was perfect timing to apply my knowledge on the job in a real world environment.
From there I transitioned to a Environmental consultant as a Folder Administrator helping out with project and proposal folder creation and NTFS permissions on their Windows file servers. I developed in that role to take on the responsibility of setting up all of their new hire user accounts, email addresses, third party software accounts and handling all of the Dell hardware imaging of laptops and desktops for the entire North America region.
After two and a half years I decided it was time for me to advance and move on and I found my current role with HCL Technologies as the Lead Field Technician for ExxonMobil's largest refinery in North America located in Baytown, TX just east of Downtown Houston.
